Tate Exchange 2020

For my MA Inclusive arts Practice module Participatory Practice and Creative Exchange, I had the opportunity to design, deliver, and facilitate a Participatory Project at the Tate Exchange in February 2020. As a group we explored several engaging creative invitations to enable diverse audiences to participate and co-create, we constructed small participatory experiences using different processes and materials including; costume, zine making, paper sculpture, weaving – all of which explored the theme (set each year by Tate Exchange) of Power.

Below are a selection of images from one these workshops.

How can weaving a sphere collaboratively encourage conversations about the power of identity and connection?

Some other reflections on the workshops…

How was locational identity explored?

How inclusive were invitations to participate?

Should the artist or the participants have control over the aesthetic?

How can weaving connect people?
